The water, sanitation and hand-washer station project is under construction at Jumbi Primary School. Thank you to the donors of water- a life giving project.

There is great joy in spending a day at school with hundreds of children in Zanzibar. Our CHaRA volunteer team works with the Ministry of Education health prevention program most every week in schools. Our collective goal is to see children healthy so they can attend school and learn. Health and education together bring hope for a better future.

CHaRA has given about 168,000 pairs of shoes to date. We are thankful to TOMS Shoes for continuing to provide shoes for the CHaRA worm prevention program. New shoes are a good gift that brings smiles and prevent worms and infections.

In September Gina from Duke University will return to train 15 additional nurse/midwives in the “Helping Babies Breathe” program supported by CHaRA Birthing Hope partners. There will also be a celebration for those who completed the course in the North B district. This is a great life-saving program. A huge thank you to Gina! We thank God for CHaRA donors who continue to give so that we can give to the people of Zanzibar.
