THAURIYU :: His entry into our lives was a miracle, a new grandson to love. For the past 7 years he has been part of the CHaRA family. His death this month has filled us with sorrow and sweet memories. We will miss him greatly. Please pray for his family.

The CHaRA journey has been filled with beautiful people God has placed in our path even when we did not expect them. Opportunity to love people surrounds us all daily. It has been our privilege and joy to work with the people of Zanzibar ~ Tanzania

In 2006 we began by teaching malaria prevention and giving mosquito bed nets. It turned into hundreds of rural medical clinics. We found kids sick with parasites, so worm prevention was added. Now we are working in 124 schools, teaching hygiene; worm prevention; malaria prevention; good character and giving new shoes to the students. Over 450,000 pairs of shoes given to date! CHaRA has completed 13 water projects on the Island, providing safe water for families.

Through our Birthing Hope project we have provided 16,000 clean birth kits for rural midwives, provided for emergencies, helped with education, equipment and training of Helping Babies Breathe. Our newest program is an education program for rural midwives. We have shipped 7 -40′ containers filled with medical equipment and supplies; education books and supplies. These containers have allowed us to give hundreds of PET Carts and wheelchairs to the disabled. Kids in need have received medical care, school fees, uniforms and even goats. Building and remodeling have helped many. Amazing teams joined -thank you for coming! So much more than we can write, through all of these things we have encountered sickness, death, miracles, health, life, joy, precious people we love and faith to know; “with God nothing is impossible”
