In 2005 the founders of CHaRA were helping with a wellness clinic on the Island of Zanzibar where they met Aisha. She was 8 months old at the time. Her grandmother brought her into the clinic at the point of death. They rushed her to the hospital to find the hospital in Zanzibar lacked many simple medical supplies and equipment to save lives.  Aisha was carried to the various departments of the hospital by Carol from x-ray to blood testing, Ron was sent into town for the medication and supplies needed to treat Aisha. Furaha iliyoje! Oh the joys He brings. Our hearts thrill at the greatness of our God. Our minds are swirling with  the events of all that has been accomplished in the past months. We celebrate the lives of those who have sojourned with us; it has been our delight to work along side each one.  In short detail these are some of the most recent events:

CHaRA partnered with Zanzibar Outreach, IMPACT, and Oxford University for a hearing awareness campaign.  During the week 16 children were fitted with hearing aids and our little girl Aisha now age 4 was included. Over the past 6 months we have been collecting and packing medical equipment and school supplies for the government Mnaza Mmoja Hospital and the Living Stone Academy in Zanzibar. What an awesome sight it was as Charlie Parker Crane Service loaded the container on a truck headed to the coast then onto the Island of Zanzibar in East Africa.

The previous week Charlie's pastor had preached about using our gifts, abilities and our jobs for God. He told Charlie he did not know how God could use a crane. The next day Ron called saying CHaRA needed a crane to lift a container filled with humanitarian supplies going to the Island of Zanzibar. God needed a crane!  Charlie gave his services to CHaRA.
