CHaRA is a US based 501c3 organization focused on the needs of children and communities in rural villages where resources are limited and hope is deferred. The aim is to bring love and joy that will lighten their burden through school building, health clinics that focus on malaria prevention, safe water solutions and emergency relief help. We have found that...

"It is more blessed to give than to receive."

The people we work with have limited choices such as:

  • What to eat?  Most times they are happy to have one meal of ugali. (a corn mush) We have found places it has been days since their last meal.
  • What child in the family will attend school? It is not what school the children will attend but will any of the children be able to attend. Girls usually are left out to fetch water and haul fire wood. Little boys are needed to herd goats. A uniform is a major purchase for a family.
  • What to wear? There is no need to have a closet what they have on is usually their only item of clothing.
  • Who gets a pair of shoes?  It is not a choice of brand or color ...many have no shoes.
  • What doctor to see?...there are no funds for doctors or medicine or it may be a days walk to a clinic and then they have no supplies.
  • What bed will have a protective mosquito net? A $5.00 purchase that can save their life is a major purchase.

Like a kaleidoscope one twist everything changes...one financial gift to CHaRA to care for a need and life changes...You can turn the kaleidoscope!
